Animation turns a static model into a creature. In ModelEngine you build animations in Blockbench, then trigger them by state — idle, walk, attack, hurt, death — through the model config or MythicMobs.

Start with idle and walk Players see those the most. A subtle breathing idle and a believable walk cycle carry more perceived quality than a flashy special that fires once per fight.

Keep attacks readable, budget everything A clear wind-up telegraphs danger and gives players a fair chance to react — that matters far more than raw frame count. And budget as you animate: long, bone-heavy animations playing on many entities at once are where TPS goes to die, so reuse cycles and keep specials rare.

Models in the Models & Textures category ship with full animation sets already tuned for live play.
